Golf Course
Version: Designed specifically for country clubs, municipal golf
courses, public golf courses, and golf courses at military bases.
It includes all of the features of our Basic Handicapping plus: |
- Handicapping facilities for up to 999 club members per group,
e.g. Men's Golf Association, Ladies' Golf Association, Junior
Golfers, etc.
- A separate module your club members can use to enter their own
scores.
We'll review
those additional features of the Golf Course Version at the end of
this page. |
Additionally,
if you are managing a golf league, running golf tournaments, or maintaining
statistics for your golf group, our handicapping products can be combined
with other Focus/2000 golf software systems. Our League Combos, Statistics
Combos, and Tournament Combos are described on separate pages at this

Handicapping |

All Focus/2000
Basic Handicapping include two methods for calculating golfers' handicaps. |
USGA Formulas:
If your golf group meets all of the requirements specified in the
USGA Handicap System manual, you may form a golf club. You may then
use the Focus/2000 Handicap System to issue and certify USGA Handicap
Indexes and Home Course Handicaps for your club members. Both nine
and 18 hole USGA handicap calculations are supported. |
The USGA
formulas include all of the latest procedures and calculations specified
by the USGA. When the USGA changes the handicapping formulas, we incorporate
those changes into Focus2000 handicapping software, and make them
available as upgrades. |
You should
check the USGA Handicap System Manual, or visit the USGA's
web site, to see if your golf group meets all of the requirements
to qualify as a golf club. Only qualified golf clubs may issue and
certify USGA Handicap Indexes for their club members. |
Personal
& League Handicapping: This versatile handicapping system lets
you set your own handicapping formulas. It is preferred by most golf
leagues because it calculates handicaps after just one round of play.
And, your handicaps will reflect your golfers' more recent play by
using less than the 20 latest rounds required by the USGA formulas. |
The power
and flexibility of Focus/2000 P & L Handicapping is based on handicapping
parameters you specify to tell the software exactly how you want your
handicaps calculated. |
- Select 9 or 18 hole handicapping
- Calculate handicaps after just one round has been played
- Set the maximum hole score allowed for handicapping purposes,
e.g. bogey, double bogey, triple bogey, etc. If you enter hole-by-hole
scores, the system will automatically make your adjustments for
you.
- Select the total number of rounds to retain for handicapping
(up to last 15 rounds)
- Optionally discard the number of highest and lowest rounds you
specify
- Select how many of the best remaining rounds to use in calculations,
e.g. 2 of last 3, 5 of last 7, or use all of them.
- Use any percentage to make your final handicap adjustment
- Set any maximum handicap for your golf group
P & L Handicaps
are based on strokes over PAR, so you have a handicap calculation
your golfers can understand. P&L Handicapping produces a Handicap
Average (e.g. 11.7) and a Handicap (e.g. 12) for each golfer. |
Golfers:
Focus/2000 Handicapping supporting up to 20, 50, 150, or 999 golfers
is available. |
Courses:
You may set up and maintain information for up to 999 golf courses,
including course rating, slope, as well as hole-by-hole yardage, par
and hole handicap ratings for up to three sets of tees per course.
Entering
Scores: With Focus/2000 Handicapping, you may enter hole-by-hole
scores and the system will automatically total the scores for you.
An adjusted gross score will be calculated based on the parameters
you specify, or based on Equitable Stroke Control if you are using
the USGA formulas. The total and adjusted scores are displayed for
your review before posting. |

Handicap
Reports: You can print and display your golfers handicap information
in summary form showing just golfers and their handicaps, or in detail
form which show each golfers handicap and scoring history. If you
are using the USGA formulas, the system produces the Handicap Posting
Sheet as required by the USGA. |

Handicap
Cards: You may also print handicap cards and labels for your golfers.
Handicap information, including each golfers scoring history, can
be printed on Focus labels. Handicap Labels can be printed for all
golfers, or only those golfers you select. We also provide front handicap
labels on which you can print your club's name, address, phone number,
name of the club's handicap chairman, etc. The front and back labels
are white with blue trim. Then, affix your labels to our attractive
burgundy, credit card sized, plastic cards to give each golfer a professionally
prepared handicap card. Handicap cards may also be printed on business
card stock available at most office supply stores. |

InstaCap:
Here's a feature you'll love. At any time, you can select one or more
golfers and display a screen showing what the new handicap(s) will
be based on the latest rounds played. The screen will list the rounds
for you too. You do not have to run a full set of handicap calculations,
and InstaCap does not change any golfer's handicap. |

Most Improved
Golfer: Here's another feature your golfers will love. You can
rank your golfers based on percentage improvement in their USGA Handicap
Indexes (if you use USGA formulas), or their Handicap Averages (if
you use P&L Handicapping). You specify the time frame for the improvement
ranking, e.g. monthly, season, year, etc. |
Handicap
Look-Up Chart: Calculate and print handicaps for all of your golfers,
for any golf course you select, based on each golfer's USGA Handicap
Index and the slope of the golf course to be played. |
Scores
Input Sheet: If you wish to use it, you may print a sheet on which
your golfers record the date and score for each round played. Use
the sheet to enter scores rather than retaining scorecards for each
round. |
Multiple
Group Facilities: If you maintain handicaps for several different
golf groups, the Focus/2000 Handicap System makes it easy. And, you
can use the USGA formulas for some golf groups, and P&L Handicapping
for others. If you use P&L Handicapping for several golf groups, each
group can have its own separate handicapping parameters. |
Upgrading:
If you are currently using any prior Version 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, or 6.3
Focus Handicap System, you can use the conversion program provided
with the current Handicapping System to convert your golfers, courses,
and scores. |
